My name is Nathaniel Carney. My field of study is applied linguistics, and my research is specifically focused on second language acquisition and intercultural communication. I am interested in pedagogical approaches in emergent bilingual education, language assessment practices, applications of technology in language learning, and identity in language learning. I am also interested in how language infludences intercultural communication. Personally, I became interested in language learning because of my own experiences studying abroad and learning other languages. In my teaching I aim to have students enjoy using another language while expanding their awareness of culture, discourse, and their own identity.
